There are several different ways to further customize the view and explore your data.
The Backpage displays detailed information about a selected node, and appears in the Results Panel whenever a node is selected.
Starting at the top, the information displayed in the Backpage is:
- The node label.
- The identifier assigned to the node and the corresponding database name.
- All linked identifiers from other databases, including gene and protein identifiers, microarray probes, GO terms and WikiGenes articles.
- A table displaying relevant coloring for the node based on the currently selected criteria set. If multiple probes link to a node, the table will display one row for each probe.
The Data Panel displays relevant data and attributes for the selected set of nodes.
The view is customizable through a set of buttons at the top of the Data Panel:
- To select specific attributes for view, click the Select Attributes button.

- To select all data attributes, click the Select All Attributes button.

- To clear the Data Panel of all attributes, click the Unselect All Attributes button.

- To delete specific attributes, click the Delete Attributes... button.
In the Delete Node Attributes dialog you can select one or more attributes to be permanently deleted.
The display of network nodes can be customized both in terms of criteria set display and metanode display:
- To display a particular criteria set, simply click on the criteria in the Criteria Set panel of theWorkspaces panel. This will apply the criteria to all current networks.
- To simultaneously display more than one criteria set, right-click on any critiera and select Combine All Criteria. This will result in a "striped" display of all available criteria on network nodes, where each vertical stripe represents a criteria set.
Any network node that has child nodes associated with it is a "metanode". For example, nodes representing gene products linked to mutliple microarray probes are represented as metanodes, with the associated probes as their children. The default display of metanodes is "collapsed", meaning only the parent node is visible.
To change the display of metanodes, right-click on any network in the Network panel of the Workspaces panel and select View Metanode As... The options include Nested (child nodes are displayed on the parent node) and Expanded (child nodes are displayed outside the parent node).
