Importing Data
The GenMAPP Data Import interface lets you import a wide range of datasets in the form a tab-delimited spreadsheet table.
- To start, make sure the correct species is selected in the Database panel of the Workspace panel.
- Under Actions, select Import dataset from table... from the drop-down and click the green arrow button.
- In the data import interface, select the data file under Import.
- The program will match your file to the database and "guess" which column contains the ID and which ID type it is. The ID column and type fields will automatically be filled in with this information. Double-check that the correct column containing the primary ID is selected and that the corresponding ID type is assigned.
- Click Import to proceed.
- You will be notified of the status of the import.
GenMAPP automatically maps the data to all open networks through the database. If mapping is successful, the dataset will be listed in the Dataset panel with a blue background, if mapping is not successful it will be listed with a red background.
