Creating Criteria Set
The Criteria Mapper interface allows you to create coloring criteria for networks based on data values.
Definitions
- Criteria: A specific expression relevant to one or more attributes. A criteria has a label, an expression and a color value.
- Criteria Set: A set of one or more criteria. Typically, a set may include criteria relevant to a particular comparison in an experiment (disease vs. control) or a particular time point in a time-course experiment (day 5 vs day 1), and typically contains multiple criteria for that comparison (up-regulated and down-regulated).
Using Criteria Mapper
Note: These instructions assume that you have loaded data.
- Open Criteria Mapper by selecting Create new criteria set... under Actions in the GenMAPP-CS workspace panel.
- To create a new criteria set, type a name in the Name field and click Enter to continue.
- In the Criteria table, double-click the first row of the Label field and enter a criteria name.
- Click the first row of the Expression field. This will activate the Expression Editor in the lower part of the Criteria Mapper window. Enter your criteria either using the clickable list of attributes and operators or by typing directly into the main field.
- Click the first row of the Value field to select a color for the criteria.
- To enter additional criteria, click the plus sign button (+) and repeat steps 3-5. Criteria are evaluated in the order they are listed. To change the order of criteria, highlight a criteria and use the arrow buttons to move it up or down.
- Click Apply to apply the criteria set to the network. To save the criteria set, click Save.
